  • Urologist working in Canada:                                                                                          Active
  • Urologist working in the USA:                                                                                         Active & International
  • Urologist working outside of Canada and the USA:                                                    International
  • Non-urologist physician:                                                                                                  Associate
  • Non-physician health care professional
    • Nurse, physician/clinical assistant or allied health professional:                Associate
  • Researcher:                                                                                                                          Associate
  • Urology resident in an ACGME or RCPSC accredited program:                                 Candidate
  • Clinical or research fellow who has completed Urology residency training:           Candidate

Active

Criteria:

  • Be in the active study or practice of Urology
  • Location of practice is in Canada or the USA
  • Have completed specialty training in the field of Urology
    • Note: the adequacy of the standards of such training and related experience shall be in the sole determination of the CUA Board of Directors
  • Be certified and licensed as a qualified medical practitioner in province or state of practice location
  • Must be prepared to provide proof of eligibility upon request
  • Note:  Urologists who do not meet the criteria for Active or International CUA Membership may apply for Associate CUA Membership

Annual Dues:  “New Active” discount of $150 CAD for first two years, then
$300 CAD

  • Note: Previous CUA Members do not qualify for the “New Active” discount

Application Process: 

International

Criteria:

  • Be in the active study or practice of Urology
  • Location of practice is outside of Canada
  • Have completed specialty training in the field of Urology

Criteria:

  • Have interest in the Objects of the CUA
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Non-urologist physician
    • Non-physician health care professional
      • Nurse, physician assistant, clinical assistant or allied health professional
    • Researcher
    • Urologist who does not meet the criteria for any other CUA Membership category
  • Must be prepared to provide proof of eligibility upon request

    • Nonvoting Member of the CUA
    • Eligible to serve as a nonvoting member of a CUA Committee

Candidate

Criteria:

  • Meet one of the following:
    • Be a Urology resident enrolled in an ACGME or RCPSC accredited training program
    • Be a clinical or research fellow who has completed Urology residency training
  • Must be prepared to provide proof of eligibility, and ongoing eligibility for this Membership category, upon request
  • Note:  Candidate CUA Members who no longer meet the eligibility criteria for Candidate CUA Membership shall not be permitted to remain in this category

Application Process: 

Senior

Criteria:

  • Have been an Active CUA Member in good standing for at least 5 consecutive years
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Reached the age of 65 years
    • Been an Active CUA Member for at least 30 years (Find out when you first joined the CUA by logging onto the “Members Only” webpage)
    • Retired completely from practice after being an Active CUA Member for at least 25 years
    • Past-President of the CUA who has completed their term as a Director of the CUA
  • Must be prepared to provide proof of eligibility upon request
  • Note:  to maintain Senior CUA Membership, the CUA requires up to date contact information

Criteria:

  • Active or International CUA Member who is not currently in practice, and is not eligible for Senior CUA Membership
  • Must be prepared to provide proof of eligibility (which is typically retirement or illness), and ongoing eligibility for this Membership category, upon request
    • Eligibility for Inactive CUA Membership is at the discretion of the CUA Board of Directors
  • Note:  to maintain Inactive CUA Membership, the CUA requires up to date contact information
