                                 Discharge instructions

You have had a cystoscopy for the visual examination of the bladder and its outlet.

Y our urologist has examined your bladder and Notes / Diagrams:

urinary passage (urethra). He or she has given
you a preliminary report of your examination results. If
        necessary, medication has been prescribed.

For the first few days following a cystoscopy, it
is common to feel some mild discomfort during
urination, as well as to see some blood in the urine. To
help ease these symptoms, drink plenty of fluids and
        void frequently.

If you received an anesthetic for your cystoscopy,
including sedative medication, you must arrange to
be driven home. You should be able to resume all of
your usual activities by the next day.

        Contact your doctor if:

          few days

        • you experience increasing difficulty with urination
