▪ Clinical Principle (AUA): a urine culture and/or post-void residual assessment may
be performed and information from bladder diaries and/or symptom
questionnaires may be obtained.
▪ PVR (CUA)
▪ Voiding symptoms
▪ Incontinence or prostatic surgery
▪ Neurologic diagnoses
▪ To minimize risks
▪ >250-300mL may be of concern
▪ Bladder scan preferable to catheterization
