• First step: the team generated several key questions in male infertility

evaluation and treatment (did not build on previous guideline - 2015).

• Second Step: A separate (independent) team (ECRI Institute)

performed a literature search and analysis of the data to help

provide recommendations on the Key questions. High-quality studies

were given preference: Prospective and RCTs

• Established 52 Guideline statements, directive and non-directive

• Strength rating based on the level of evidence (A-High, B-Moderate,

C-Low)

• A Strong, Moderate or Conditional recommendation grade was

assigned (based on degree of benefit-harm).

• Guidelines were evaluated by 49 independent reviewers
