INITIAL PROSTATE CANCER WORK-UP
DIAGNOSIS
• DRE Imaging
• PSA • Bone imaging (if equivocal results on initial bone
• Prostate biopsy scan, consider plain films, CT, MRI, or
• Life expectancy estimation F-18 NaF PET/CT)
• Family history*
• Pelvic ± abdominal imaging
Molecular Testing
• Consider tumour testing for homologous
recombination gene mutations and for
microsatellite instability (MSI) or mismatch repair
deficiency (dMMR)
• Consider germline genetic testing
*With consideration of cancers related to DNA repair gene abnormalities (eg, BRCA1/2, Lynch syndrome)
