What is Advocacy?
An activity by an individual or group that aims to
influence decisions within a political, economic, social system
or institution through various forms of persuasive
communication.
Includes legislation, laws, statements, public policy, or prevailing practices
imposed by those in authority to guide or control institutional, community,
and sometimes individual behaviour.
