FULL-TIME GENERAL UROLOGIST

The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is an 85 bed acute care community hospital operating on
two sites serving a regional population of 66,000. Specialty catchment of over 80,000. The hospital is
a fully accredited hospital with exemplary status that delivers a broad range of primary and secondary
services including; anaesthesia, general surgery, urology, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics and
gynecology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, emergency care, and diagnostic imaging.

The communities of Perth and Smiths Falls are located approximately one hour from Ottawa and
Kingston, along the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Lakes System. The perfect place to practice and play!

Practice Profile

➢ To join a growing busy community urology department. Office space within the Smiths Falls
hospital site is available to share with current practicing urologist. Weekly allocated time in the
main OR and flexible cystoscopy/small procedure clinic.

➢ Position available July 2023. Prospective applicants with anticipated graduation dates of July
2024 will also be considered contingent on completion of a site visit or community elective at the
Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.

➢ Community-based General Urology practice with optional Academic affiliation with Queens
University, Kingston and The University of Ottawa Divisions of Urology

➢ Modern operating and endoscopy suites with holmium laser, urodynamics, digital flexible
cystoscopy and ureteroscopy, high definition laparoscopic equipment, and open equipment

➢ Large general urology practice including: oncology, endourology, men's health, benign voiding
dysfunction, neurogenic voiding dysfunction, and female urology

➢ Applicants with subspecialty training will be supported in providing advanced care

➢ Provision of consultative services at both sites of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital for
Emergency Department, inpatients and outpatients.

Requirements

➢ Independent Certificate of Registration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

➢ Certification in Urology FRCSC by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
➢ Commitment to relocate to the broader Perth and Smiths Falls area and establish a permanent
practice
