Risk Factors for PPI





                Radiotherapy


                • Patient who received previous radiation therapy to the prostate or pelvis have worse rates of
                   incontinence





                • At 5-year follow-up the continence rate was only 39%, which is much lower than patients who
                   received no prior radiotherapy [Stephenson et al., 2004].




                Surgeon Experience

                       • Higher volume surgeons had lower rates of incontinence




                Nerve Sparing

                       • Positively associated with improved continence rates

                       • Incontinence rates in the bilateral, unilateral, non-sparing groups were 1.3%, 3.4%, and 13.7%
